071: “Give yourself and others grace. We’re all going through the same thing, and we’re all reacting differently to it.” Encouraging women to be mindful of their mental health with Syzette Gountang and Cherelle Posadas

You Are Collective was founded by Cherelle Posadas and Syzette Gountang. Two individuals who met through Instagram and decided to connect in person for coffee at Panera Bread. They discovered an alignment of their faith in God, a passion for creativity, the value of connection, and saw a need for mental wellness. They share their mission for You Are Collective, which is to encourage women to be mindful of their mental health through creativity, community, and the power in words.

Who do you admire as a Pinay Activist? October is Filipino American History Month. According to the Filipino American National Historical Society, this year's theme is The History of Filipino American Activism.

"We believe this theme is particularly crucial in 2020, as it is a key election year and we are living amidst a pandemic and mass movement towards racial justice. Thus, we encourage all of our chapters and communities to reflect on decades of Filipino American activism, in order to inspire and foster our civic responsibility in the Filipino American community." - FANHS

Celebrate Filipino American History Month with us by sharing WHO is your favorite Pinay Activity and WHY! Text or leave us a voice message at (415) 484-TFAW(8329) or email Jen at jen@tfawproject.com
