In your opening holiday letter, I love how we discussed the queer community’s idea of a chosen family.
Your chosen family isn’t just the family you grew up with.
A lot of times, people in the gay community have been ousted by their parents because they can’t fathom having a child who’s gay. Some, of course, are nurtured and fully accepted, so it really depends.
