So the theme of this letter is you reflecting on how gossiping at home — which is a normal part of your family culture — doesn’t translate well at work. You wrote this after almost losing your job for gossiping. It was an honest mistake. You were just trying to bond with coworkers the same way you bond with family. But now you’re learning that you have to show up differently in the workplace.

Writer:

Yeah, with the whole supervisor thing — I learned that gossip can be considered a form of “workplace violence,” which is so strange because I never saw gossip as a negative thing. I always thought of it as a way to bond with loved ones.
